Camps
Spartan Basketball Camps – Spartan Basketball Camps are conducted by the Men’s Basketball Coach at San Jose State and offer four full weeks of camps for boys and girls ages 7-16. Our day long camps provide instruction and fun. Please visit the website for all the details.
Bald Eagle Basketball Summer Camp – for boys and girls entering 3rd-8th grade and held at Los Altos High School.
Palo Alto Hoops – Directed by Scott Peters (head Girls Varsity basketball coach for Palo Alto High School), Palo Alto Hoops operates a series of basketball clinics and camps targeted at improving overall skills and preparing players for High-School basketball.Visit their website for details on Spring Camps (1st & 2nd graders) as well as their Summer programs (1st-6th graders + high school).
Saratoga Basketball Camp – Coordinated by the Saratoga High School varsity coaches (Mike Davey, girls and Trevor Naas, boys), this summer camp is for boys & girls entering 3rd-8th grade (and one session for incoming 9th grade girls). See 2011 Camp Flyer (PDF) for more details.
Fremont Basketball Camp & Clinics – From the City of Sunnyvale parks & rec department, these camps and clinics are held at Fremont High School in Sunnyvale. These are for boys & girls ages 6-15. For more details, please see the Fremont Basketball Camp Info Sheet and the Sign-up Form and Waiver.
Basketball Jones Hoop Camps – Basketball Jones Hoop Camps is a full service Basketball Camp company that provides players a chance to get immersed in the game of basketball. The 2011 Summer Basketball Camp schedule for the San Jose area includes June 13-17 at Monroe Middle School and July 18-22 at Branham High School. The camps are for boys and girls ages 7-15. All week-long sessions are 40 hours.
AAU Teams
Silicon Valley Stars – AAU program run by Silicon Valley NJB staff – boys in grades 4 through 8. (Girls program no longer offered.)
San Jose Cagers – AAU program led by Sue Philips, girls varsity head coach at Archbishop Mitty. Typically tryouts are held in January. Runs girls teams for grades 6-8 in the Spring, and high-school age groups in the Summer.
Bay Area Panthers – boys AAU club based in Cupertino. See the 2011 tryouts flyer (PDF format) for details. From their website:
The Bay Area Panthers were formed in 2010 by a group of parents that wished to have their kids compete in basketball at a different level under a positive atmosphere which would allow their kids to grow as players and as individuals while using basketball as a platform for it all.
Titan Athletics Basketball Club (also try their Facebook page) – Tryouts for their AAU program will be held on Saturday, February 12, 2011, from 12pm – 3pm at Lincoln High School (555 Dana Avenue, San Jose, CA 95126). They are looking for 3rd – 10th grade boys and girls, and the tryouts are free. See the Titans tryout form (PDF format), or send email to titan.basketball at yahoo.com for more information.
Recreational Leagues
Sunnyvale Youth Basketball League – Run by the city of Sunnyvale parks & rec department.
Saratoga Suns Spring League – an internal league developed for girls in 3rd – 6th grade who would like to continue working on basketball skills in the spring.
Training
Bay Area Basketball Academy – company started by Stanford Women’s Basketball Alum Morgan Clyburn – now offering small group and individual skills sessions for boys and girls 3rd-12th grade.
